State Chamber’s Annual Meeting Will Be Feb. 1 In Lincoln

Tuesday, January 2, 2018 - 2:30pm

LINCOLN – On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry will hold its 2018 Annual Meeting and Legislative Caucus at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln.

This is one of Nebraska’s most noteworthy business gatherings and the Nebraska Chamber’s largest event of the year.

According to Barry Kennedy, president of the State Chamber, this year’s annual meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about the important issues and legislation impacting Nebraska’s economy and business community.

Attendees will hear from Gov. Pete Ricketts, as well as state lawmakers and policy experts, and pay tribute to some of the state’s most accomplished business leaders.

The governor will address the noon luncheon, which recognizes local chambers of commerce across the state.  The afternoon will feature the State Chamber’s annual business meeting.  Later in the afternoon, the chamber will present three discussion panels comprised of policy experts and state senators to address:

  • Federal issues and their impact on the state;
  • Nebraska’s workforce and skilled labor challenge; and
  • Major issues facing the Nebraska Legislature in 2018.

The evening will include a reception beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the annual banquet and Nebraska Business Hall of Fame induction ceremony starting at 7 p.m.

The day’s events, except the morning State Chamber Board of Directors meeting, are open to the public and news media.
