Nebraska Chamber’s Annual Meeting Is Feb. 2 In Lincoln

Monday, January 16, 2017 - 11:30am

LINCOLN – On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry will hold its Annual Meeting and Legislative Caucus at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln.

This event is one of Nebraska’s largest, statewide business gatherings of the year.  According to Barry Kennedy, president of the Nebraska Chamber, this year’s annual meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about the important issues and legislation impacting the state’s economy and business community.

Governor Pete Ricketts and state lawmakers have been invited to take part in the event, which will also pay tribute to some of Nebraska’s most accomplished business leaders.

The governor is expected to address the noon luncheon, which will recognize the efforts of local chambers of commerce across the state.  The afternoon session will include three discussion panels featuring leading policy experts and key leaders of the Nebraska Legislature.  The panels will address:

  • Federal issues and their impact on the Cornhusker State;
  • Nebraska’s “brain drain” challenge and potential solutions; and
  • Priorities for the Nebraska Legislature in 2017.

The day will be capped by the Chamber’s Annual Banquet and Nebraska Business Hall of Fame ceremony, beginning at 7 p.m.

All of the day’s events, except the morning Board of Directors meeting, are open to the public and press.
